           The Peter 'Pedro' Barlow Story

Born and christened “Peter” he has for the last 35 years been more generally known by his nickname of 'Pedro' – His vast musical career started in Country with him playing bass guitar,  then bass guitar and vocals, and then as one of the founder-members of ‘Tallahassee’ in the  mid-eighties he developed into one of the main vocalists as well.

By the early nineties, when that group gradually wound down, he was invited to join the very popular multi award winning ‘Band Named Sioux’ – fronted by Danny Lee. After a few years he decided to make his next very important step in his career. Moving onto acoustic guitar he became the front man for ‘The Longriders’ a popular 4-piece band that travelled the length and breadth of Britain & Europe with their brand of country  music and boasting one of the fullest diaries on the circuit.

Because this pushed him into the public’s attention much more than before he became a well-known and well liked character in his own right, and despite having to leave Longriders for health reasons in October 2001, that national recognition and general “feel good” factor has stayed with Pedro to this day.

Whilst Peter spent about six months off the road recovering he decided to have a rethink about his  performing career and these days, instead of racing up and down the motorways all the time, he prefers to operate as a  solo artiste instead and indeed has succeeded in this area just as he always did in a full band-type of situation. Apart from the singer/guitarist role he has now also created demand for himself as both a Compere and in Stage Management.

So versatility is the name of the game.  For a night of pure traditional country  simply book 'Pedro' . Alternatively,  if you want  your line dance floors busy all night just ask for 'Peter ‘Pedro’ Barlow' - since he took the long overdue step of also embracing the vibrant 'Line Dance scene.  Pete can boast  one of the most up to date dance repertoires on the circuit.

So, New - Old - Fast - Slow and all stations in between – that’s what his award winning shows are all about nowadays,  and it’s what guarantees a good night’s entertainment with this friendly, popular entertainer from  Devon.
